Wow, this last weekend was pretty good. In RL I got myself a huge great water butt for the garden for free off freecycle. I can highly recommend freecycle - you have to give as much as you get, pretty much, but it's like an open-ended swap shop thing. I've given away an oil-filled heater & a couple of old style Apple keyboards, and got a lovely big water butt back. I wanted to give away my table & chairs but I got messed about a bit there & decided better to give to a Charity shop, as it was less hassle. It's a pity you can't include photos like with Gumtree or Craig's List. Craig's List isn't yet as popular in the UK away from London as it is in the US, and Gumtree doesn't yet have adequate spam protection so their classified ads are full of porn spam & so on, and until they sort that out (Captcha mebbe?) it'll have a slow decline into dis-use. Pity but there you go.
Anyway, SL: spent some great time with my friends Kezzy & Jazz on & off all weekend. Saturday night was excellent, just chillin' & dancing with Jazz & later both Jazz & Mechmech, & then Sunday I caught the tail end of Kezzy's morning set (I missed the first couple of hours as I was grinding up my fishing & cooking skill on my hordie Death Knight - she's up to 225 now, ready for another big push tonight), then I was in again for my Bushy Beard set, where I was joined by Jazz and Kezzy. I did an pretty good set I think - mixture of D&B, mashups, techno & finished with some Jungle Book for Kezzy. After some TV-watching duty I popped back in to get Kezzy a little present, as she's gone gaga over these (actually rather nice) high-top sculptie boots from Stiletto Moody. I got her the colour change version of the boots she likes in patent & croc-skin versions, rather nice - hope she likes them.
I'm amazed sometimes at how wrong some people can be about me & my friends. Occasionally I read this person's blog who was a bit of a stalkery weirdo & was very unpleasant to one of my friends - mainly because the url starts with www2 so it pops up at the top of my urls when I type in http:// in my address bar. I monitor it from time to time because my friend is too nervous to & he's still obsessed after a year, despite making periodic displays of how he's moved on. He's moved on so much that he's effectively trying to become her - changed his avie to neko, started living a bisexual lifestyle, and so forth. The things he puts in there are pretty defamatory & I won't grace him with a link here, but if I take Napoleon's advice & attribute it to imbecility rather than outright malice, wow, how totally wrong he still is. I think I may play Depeche Mode's new single & dedicate it to him at my next BB set. Personally I don't hate him; there were things that were wrong which needed someone like him to come riding roughshod through everything I had for me to realise what mattered, but really, I hope he does actually move on some day & sort himself out. In the end, what matters is friends, something he has a lot less of these days.
